Welcome Mentees!

First-year students who are chosen as mentees in our program will receive guidance from College of Business juniors and seniors in transitioning academically and socially to their new surroundings in the College, at Colorado State, and the Fort Collins community. It’s a valuable relationship that can make your time at CSU more successful and enjoyable.

Almost 99 percent of the first-year students in our program return for their sophomore year, and they have earned higher GPAs than their COB peers who don’t participate in the program.

COB mentees may be:

First-generation students (parents do not hold a college degree)
Racially/ethnically diverse
From small towns
And/or from out of state
3 Key Components:

  • Mentor Mentee Relationship
  • 6-Week Mentoring Seminar Course
  • Program Community

Becoming a Mentee
We will be accepting 25 new mentees for the 2017-2018 program. To apply, please fill out our online application. The application is now open, and applications will be accepted on a rolling basis as space allows.
“Having someone who's been there, done that, makes decisions a lot more manageable. Plus, as a first-generation student, it was nice having someone who knew what the transition was like.” - Mentee
